Our Story

Clear the work. Keep the garden.

Six years of one stubborn idea: garden tools should outlast the season — and never depend on a second pair of hands.

2020 — Where it started

It started with a skip full of dead tools.

The spring the world stood still, everyone rediscovered their garden. We did too — and while clearing out a family shed in the East Midlands, we made a small, embarrassing discovery: three broken strimmers, two dead pressure washers, and a drawer full of chargers that no longer charged anything. Years of "bargains", none of which had survived more than a couple of summers.

We did the maths on that skip. Hundreds of pounds spent — more than one properly built tool would ever have cost. And we knew our shed wasn't the exception. It was the rule, repeated in a million gardens across the country.

Buy cheap, buy twice. Buy right, buy once. That skip became our business plan.
The early years

A rented lock-up, a folding table, and a lot of ruined Saturdays.

RYDA didn't start in a boardroom. It started in a rented lock-up with a folding table, a kettle, and a growing pile of sample tools we ordered, tested, and — mostly — rejected. Batteries that quit halfway down the lawn. Grips that pinched. Manuals written in riddles.

Our test bench was never a showroom: it was our own gardens and the gardens of anyone who'd let us in. Wet hedges in October. Cracked patios. The awkward strip of grass beside the fence that every tool pretends doesn't exist. If a tool couldn't handle a real British weekend, it didn't get a second one.

The first tool that survived everything we threw at it became the ancestor of the G-series. People started asking where we got it. Then their neighbours asked. That's when we understood we weren't just solving our own problem.

Today

Six years on, the rule hasn't changed.

Today RYDA serves gardeners all over the UK, with a warehouse instead of a lock-up and a proper test process instead of borrowed gardens. But every product still has to answer the same question we asked in 2020: would we use this in our own garden, every weekend, without excuses?

It's why our range is still short — we say no to far more products than we say yes to. And it's why we back every tool with a 90-day guarantee: if it can't survive three months of real weekends, it doesn't deserve a place in your shed.

Six years, one idea

2020

The skip, and the decision

A shed clear-out becomes a mission: build a range of garden tools actually worth keeping.

2021

The first tool earns its name

After months of testing and rejected samples, the ancestor of the G-series survives a full season of British weekends.

2022

The 90-day promise

We formalise the guarantee we'd been giving informally: 90 days in your garden, full refund if it doesn't earn its place.

2023–2024

The range grows — slowly, on purpose

Jet washers, lifting kits, splitters. Each one through the same gates. Most candidates still fail.

Today

The work continues

A warehouse, a UK support team, and thousands of gardens cleared — with the same rule we started with.

How a tool earns the RYDA name

The same four gates since 2020. Every product in the range has passed them — most candidates don't.

1

We benchmark the market

For every category we enter, we compare the models available — spec by spec, price by price — before choosing what deserves to exist in our range.

2

We test in real gardens, not showrooms

Full lawns, wet hedges, cracked patios, awkward furniture. If a tool only performs in perfect conditions, it fails. British gardens don't do perfect conditions.

3

We fix what annoys us

Battery that dies mid-job? Rejected. Grips that pinch? We add gloves to the kit. Instructions written in riddles? We rewrite them. The details other brands ignore decide whether you'll enjoy the work.

4

We stay accountable after you buy

90 days to change your mind, UK-based support five days a week, tracked delivery on every order. A tool earns its place in your shed — or it comes back to ours.

What RYDA is — and what it isn't

We're not a gadget shop. No fifty-product catalogue of things nobody needs. If it's in our range, it solves a real job in a real garden.

We're not chasing trends. No tool joins the range because it's viral. It joins because it survived our gardens first.

We don't hide behind chatbots. When you email or call us, a person who knows the products answers — Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm UK time.

We are obsessive about the short list. A small range of tools we'd stake the brand on. Because every single day, we do.

Our deal hasn't changed since day one.

Try any RYDA tool in your own garden for 90 days. Use it properly — full weekends, real jobs. If it doesn't earn its place in your shed, send it back and we'll refund you in full. No quibbles, no hoops, no "have you tried turning it off and on again".

Six years in, we've kept that promise on every order. It's the reason people come back for their second and third RYDA tool — and the reason we can afford to make it: tools that work don't come back.

Fair questions, straight answers

Who is behind RYDA?

A small independent team that has spent the last six years in home & garden, handling everything from product selection and testing to customer support. Full company details are on our Contact Information page — we publish them because you should be able to check who you're buying from.

Where do you deliver, and how fast?

We deliver across the UK with free tracked shipping on every order. Orders are dispatched within 1–3 working days, and every order gets a tracking number so you always know where it is.

What if my tool develops a fault?

Contact us at help@ryda-uk.com. Within the first 90 days you're covered by our money-back guarantee, and your statutory rights under UK consumer law apply beyond that. We fix problems — we don't debate them.

Why is your range so small?

Deliberately. Every product has to pass the same testing gates we set in 2020, and most candidates fail. We'd rather sell eight tools we believe in than eighty we don't.
